Ⅰ Standardization administration

The Center works as the Chinese counterpart of ISO/TC61/SC13 ( Composites and reinforcement fibres ) and TC163 (Thermal performance and energy use in the built environment).

It also serves as the secretariats of seven technical committees on standardization:

• National Technical Committee on Glass Fibers of Standardization Administration of China
• National Technical Committee on Thermal Insulations of Standardization Administration of China
• National Technical Committee on Carbon Fibers of Standardization Administration of China
• CSTM FC03 Technical Committee on Thermal Insulations
• CSTM FC03 Technical Committee on Glass Fibers and Carbon Fibers
• Technical Committee on Thermal Insulation Standardization of China Building Materials Group
• Technical Committee on Glass Fiber and Carbon Fiber Standardization of China Building Materials Group

Ⅱ Working performance of standard formulation and revision

• Having hosted the formulation/revision of 13 ISO standards and formulation of 139 national and professional standards.
• Having hosted the formulation of 92% glass fiber and carbon fiber standards and 59% thermal insulation standards in the domestic industry.
• Having hosted the formulation/revision of the first international carbon fiber standard directed by China, and become one of the three international carbon fiber cyclic comparison laboratories.

Ⅲ Standardization responsibilities and services

• Providing services on standardization such as knowledge training, information consultation and technical support to the industry and society.
• Studying and proposing policies and technical measures for the standardization in this field.
• Being in charge of making a table of standard systems in this field and proposing annual plans for formulating or revising national and professional standards in this field.
• Organizing the formulation, revision and check of national and professional standards in this field according to the plans approved by the administrative department.
• Organizing the examination of drafts of national and professional standards in this field.
• Organizing the propaganda and explanation of national and professional standards in this field as entrusted by the administrative department.
• Fulfilling the role of the counterpart of ISO/TC163.
• Examining the standardization of the import projects in this field.
• The technical committees on standardization can expand the standardization work in this field to the whole society.
